Introduction

Well I am new to the blogging thing but thought I would start. I am a freelance journalist making my living by writing articles about people. Yes people. I spend an inordinate amount of my time watching people and mixing that with what I know about human motivation and behavior. People fascinate me. Why we do what we do. I had a friend in college who told me that humans were no different than animals, acting on instinct and the desire for survival and dominance. However, in my life I have seen some things that make us qualitatively different than animals. Like when my first daughter was born. It created some emotions inside me that I never knew existed. It made me want to elevate myself, be better, be an example that would give her a role model of how to have happiness.

Studying human behavior is time consuming and in the past has required a lot of travel. However, over the past year or two I have discovered that you can learn much from people by their blogs. Some of you may think people like me are voyeurs or stalkers. We all know there are those out there. However, I have no desire to personally meet any of the people out there of whom I am watching or commenting. Mostly I watch and read; sometimes I comment to see if bloggers will respond.

So that is my web identity. I am out there to observe. Who knows, perhaps some of you will end up the subject of one of my articles. Maybe you will read about yourselves in some publication that you already read.

I may give updates to this blog on occasion as I find interesting people out there to write about. The purpose of this blog is journalistic only. I will not write, only tangentially, about myself or my family---that is reserved for a different venue.

Also I do not mean to harm in anyway any of the people of whose blogs I may make remark. If I do I am apologizing up front; it will be unintentional.

Hey Pete,
not to sound too harsh, but you are freaking out my wife, one of the extraordinary housewives. You show that the only blog you follow is that one, but you are a journalist? maybe there is an explanation but, that's just a little bit weird for a dad of 2 daughters and husband to be checking out our wives.
maybe it just looks that way, but still have a little savvy about how it shows up. By the way a little harsh on the Pro Choice thing, but at least I agree that abortion is even harsher so at least we agree about that.

Sorry Brek,
I see what you mean. Not sure why it shows that as the blog that I follow. I am new to creating blogs and I am sure it will take a while to figure out. I just got on and found out that since creating the blog the wives blog was the only one I have commented on and it seems like that is why it added it to my list. I have got in and found a way to not list the blogs I am following. Actually I don't want anybody to know where I am getting my information for my articles so thanks for the feedback.
I know my pro choice thing was a little harsh, but I have seen the results of abortion and trust me it is much much much more harsh to the Nth degree than what the pictures show. I could have put some much more disgusting, heart wrenching pictures. Just do a google search for abortion pictures and get thoroughly ready to puke.
As far as "checking out" your wives, I guess I have no defense of that. That is what I do, "check out" people. I "check out" people and their interactions to learn about people. I appreciate you being defensive of your wife, but if she doesn't want to be "watched" then I suggest she be careful about posting herself on blogs, since there are some creepy people out there that are probably really "checking her out." Mine is purely journalistic in nature.
Thanks for checking my blog out. I really don't know what I think about making my own blog, but we will see how it goes in the future. Maybe some of the messages I want to send to the world can be done this way too.
